How Many Children are on Your Feet?

These days we don't really know anything about ourselves, let alone where most of the products we use come from. It is interesting that convenience will outweigh our natural curiosity. We don't want to know what had to happen to get this thing into our shopping bag, as long as it is tasty, handy or trendy. Where we once had empathy, we now have Sky Plus.

War, is another channel on the television that we flick through to get the highlights in between our craving for reality TV, where somebody's dreams are ripped apart for our pleasure. The wars that rage today are far more sinister and vicious than in the past. Have you had a look at what the kids play on their Playstations and Xboxs recently? They play games based on real wars going in the world today. How messed up is that?

We drink what is advertised between wars, and buy clothes from the most expensive shops. The charity Concern tells us that it only takes 4 Euros a month to save a starving child in the Third World, but few ask how many children are worth the high heels, jackets or jewellery they have on. Most prefer to go on the razz, rather than think about it.

So? What can you do?? The answer is easy- nothing. I am not on some crusade to bring this all to your attention, you know all this already.

My art asks one thing-

As absurd as these pictures are, is this really that far from the truth?
